Use heavy duty cartons (as opposed to Locally used cartons). |
Avoid used cartons, especially those from electrical appliances as they may increase the risk of pilferage. |
Carton boxes are available upon request. |
Tape the carton in at least 3 places on the top and bottom, reinforcing the taping in the case of heavy cartons. |
For safe and easy handling, try to make the cartons the same weight. |
For safety and economy, it is a good idea to pack fragile items with clothes. |
As for plates, glasses and other fragile items, wrap them with bubble pack, air
cap etc. first, place then in an inner carton, and them pack that in an outer
carton. They will be more secure if they are packed in an upright position in
the carton. |
Pack futon mattresses, clothes and other bulky items in compression bags to reduce volume weight. |
Use plastic bags for items susceptible to water leakage. |
Taping should be 3 places usually. |
Use reinforced packing in the case of heavy baggage. |
Mention the contents of the goods clearly on the cardboard. |
For protection, put a piece of cardboard on top of the contents. Cartons may be opened with a knife for customs inspection. |
Indicate package number on the outside. For example, Case no. 1 of 3. |
