M.O. Air Logistics Approved as Authorized Warehouse Operator

TOKYO — MOL Logistics (Japan) Co., Ltd. (President: Toshifumi Kato) today announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary M.O. Air Logistics, Inc. (President: Yuko Kane), which provides customs clearance and bond operations, was certified as an Authorized Warehouse Operator by the Director General of Tokyo Customs on October 20.

This certification allows companies that operate bonded warehouses to participate in Japan’s Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) program. In the AEO program, the customs office authorizes trade-related companies whose security management and structure comply with laws and regulations, aiming to both ensure safety and efficiency of international trade. It includes systems for authorized exporters, authorized importers, authorized warehouse operators, authorized customs brokers, and authorized logistics operators. The following two bonded warehouses of M.O. Air Logistics, Inc. are Authorized Warehouse Operators:

  • Narita Bonded Warehouse 1F, AMB Narita Air Cargo Center "B" 78-7 Minami-Sanrizuka, Narita-shi, Chiba
  • Niigata Bonded Warehouse Shinko-cho 9-5, Mitsuke-shi, Niigata

Approval as an Authorized Warehouse Operator certifies that the company has developed a compliance system and a security system to prevent unauthorized access to the cargo.

It is an important task for all national governments to ensure security in globally based supply chains, and many governments provide favorable treatment such as mutual certification of AEO program.

MOL Logistics (Japan) believes the certification ensures its customers that their cargo will be handled safely and efficiently.

MOL Logistics (Japan) Starts Nonresident Storage,
Buyers Consolidation of Japan-bound Furniture in Bangkok

TOKYO — MOL Logistics (Japan) Co., Ltd. (President: Toshifumi Kato) today announced the start of nonresident storage and consolidation service of furniture in Bangkok, for a Japanese major mail order company. MOL Logistics will operate a warehouse owned by a Thai warehouse company partly capitalized by Japanese investors.

MOL Logistics also operates its own warehouse in Bangkok, but decided to use the other facility because it recently acquired Thai customs approval for a 10,000m2 Free Trade Zone (FTZ) and is conveniently located just minutes from both Swannapoom Airport and Bangkok Airport.

This will be MOL Logistics’ fourth nonresident storage business, following operations in Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Vietnam.

MOL Logistics’ unique L’vis system, which combines a warehouse management system (WMS) and a tracing system (SCM-HUB) for order receiving, ordering, and cargo, allows Japanese buyers to check their orders with suppliers in Thailand online (PO), storage of cargo, stock in warehouse, shipping instructions to Japan (SO), departure, and stock in transit at sea. All of these features add up to faster, more efficient service.

L’vis is not simply a combination of WMS and SCM-HUB, but can drastically reduce development costs compared to conventional systems, linking WMS and SCM-HUB data from Thai warehouse company owns in a convenient format in cooperation with the partner system company.

MOL Logistics( Japan) will use the FTZ warehouse, which has an excellent location and sufficient space for expansion from its current 3,0002m area, to offer efficient, cost-effective logistics solutions for import and export customers in Thailand.
