Announces Tie-up with Tonami Transportation


TOKYO ― MOL Logistics (Japan) Co., Ltd. (President: Toshifumi Kato) today announced agreement on a business tie-up with Tonami Transportation Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Takaoka-shi, Toyama Prefecture; President: Katsusuke Watanuki), a subsidiary of the Tonami Holdings Co., Ltd.

The basic agreement about the tie-up will be concluded on April 1. The move will help both companies expand their business and offer more fine-tuned, higher-quality services.

Outline of the agreement
MOL Logistics (Japan) and Tonami Transportation agreed on an alliance that includes mutual personnel exchanges in trucking, warehousing, and forwarding to meet rapidly changing logistics needs and intensifying competition. MOL Logistics (Japan), through this alliance with Tonami Transportation, will enhance a first-class partnership that has expertise both at home and abroad and take service quality to a new level. This is one of the basic policies in the company’s FY2007-2009 mid-term management plan.

The agreement marks a major step ahead in the global market and enhances logistics services of both companies. It will generate synergistic advantages by drawing on the strengths of Tonami Transportation’s domestic trucking and logistics network and MOL Logistics (Japan)’s overseas network of intermodal transportation and contract logistics.

MOL Logistics (Japan) to Start Ocean LCL Consolidation Service from Tokyo to Hamburg


TOKYO ― MOL Logistics (Japan) Co., Ltd. (President: Toshifumi Kato) today announced the start of ocean less-than-container-load (LCL) consolidation export service from Tokyo to Hamburg. The company will draw on its global network and the strengths of the MOL Group, including entrusted shipping companies and container freight stations (CFSs) to offer fast, reliable, high-quality, intermodal services at competitive rates.
